On Saturday afternoon at approximately 7:15pm a 13-year-old boy walking home in Black County City became the victim of a botched abduction attempt. The boy said he noticed the car following him and quickly turned on to Mud Springs Road when the driver pulled up alongside him. The suspect offered the boy a ride home and when he refused, aggressively yelled at him to,”Get in the car!” while reaching for an unknown object inside his shirt. The boy ran home and reportedly saw the driver passing by his house as he was inside.
The unidentified driver is described as being pale with “squinty” eyes, no facial hair, buzzed sandy brown hair and small in stature. At the time of the incident he was seen driving a older silver or grey car with a binder, medium sized pill bottle and hat with a flame graphic inside. Anyone with information about the suspect is encouraged to notify the Yavapai County Sheriff’s Office at 928-771-3260 or the Yavapai Silent Witness line at 1-800-932-3232.
